I didn't get as much spinning done as I would have liked. I did I manage to get 900 yards of a lovely 3-ply completed. This fleece is just gorgeous, but it has a ton of vm. It's killing me. I pick more than I spin. The finished product is worth the wait.
It's hot! I needed something that would keep me cool and comfortable. Maxi skirts were the ticket. I have actually made 4 of them. This white one has small pin stripes of yellow going down the skirt. No pattern as it is really just two rectangles with an elastic casing to make the gathers and hold it up. I used 2 yards to make a very full skirt.
So my quilting group has decided to start a quilt along. We decided to make the quilt from Eleanor Burns, El's Kitchen. The quilt is designed in the 1930's palate. I tried to pick colors that would be ideal for this, but brighter. This one is called Apron.
Day 5, a added another 2 ounces to the 2nd bobbin, and this is the start of the 3rd bobbin. I am shooting for light worsted for a three ply. Hopefully I can finish this one up on Thursday and start plying on Friday.
More of the fleece that I have for my goal. I carded about 5 ounces this morning. It made a big difference teasing it out before putting it through the carder. You know what they say, if it is worth doing, then do it right the first time. Lessonslearned.
Not much in the line of spinning. I spun enough of the fleece to get an idea of how it will spin up. It needed three passes through the carder, so I teased out some tonight. Hopefully it won't need three passes with the extra loosening up of the fiber. It does spin like butter. More tomorrow.
