Tuesday, Blood Noir came out. This is the 17th book in the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series written by Laurel K. Hamilton. I love her stories. A lot of people don't like her writing because it can be a little sleazy at times. I like the freaky side of her writing, vampires, werewolves, and fairies, oh my! Yes, its silly, but seriously, she's fun to listen to. She has a great sense of humor and has witty responses to people's questions. Anyway here are a few pics, Laurel and hubby (on the right) Laurel and me - yeah, I use to look good in orange, not so much as witnessed here!

One of the best things about my house on top of the hill is the view from my living room. I spend a lot of time knitting in here and I love the fact that when I look outside I can't see my neighbors' homes at all. I live on one of the highest points in St. Louis and literally I feel like I live on top of a mountain. There are several steps to get up to the house from the front or the back,but the view from inside makes up for it. Where's your favorite spot inside?

I finished the baby gift for a coworker and then forgot to take it on Friday. I guess I am mailing it since school out until August. By then, the sweater probably won't fit. It's another Baby Kimono. In green this time. I love this pattern because its so easy to do. I have yarn left over, so I think I'll make some bibs to keep on hand for the babies-to-be for the fall. Three more at the start of the next school year.

I wanted to prove I have been knitting. I just haven't taken any photos. Kiri is about 2/3's of the way done. I have 3 more repeats and the border to do. I love it so far. Its pretty easy to do. I have the pattern memorized, but I still need to pay attention or it is easy to be off a stitch. I can't wait to block it.

She made it. I am really proud of dear daughter. The last few weeks of school were just plain tough. She was tired and just wanted to see the end. I do not have many pictures because the lighting was just terrible, so the only good pics are the one's outside. As you can see no cap and grown. DD went to a Cleveland NJROTC. The school is support by the Navy. This the suit and hair up. I wish had some kind of a bang. But her plans for her hair include going blonde again. This is Dad and Dear Daughter Dear Daughter and the very proud Mom Congrats chicky, its over!!!

Just checking in to say a few crabby things that are going on. Today was the 7th grade's year end trip. We went to River Chase in Fenton. I think the kids had a pretty good time. Me, it could have been a little better. First kids and cell phones, why is it kids just can't leave them at school in their lockers like they were suppose to. A 25 minutes ride and my co-teacher and I confiscated 4 phones. 2nd one of my favorite students gets his wallet taken with 50 bucks in it. Why bring so much money? We find his wallet up front and short $30. Just sad. Other teachers telling others what to do, this is by far my favorite complaint. I am not a student so don't treat as such. Dear daughter graduates fron high school tomorrow. This makes me proud and sad of course, she's the baby. However, its 7:20 and I still have no idea what time or how many people can be invited. I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day. I wish my Mom was still alive, so I could honor in the way she would like. Mom was a wonderful woman and friend. For the most part Mom was truly the kind of mom everyone wants. We lived on the same street just down the block from each other for many years. My kids probably spent as much time at grandma and papa's house as they did their own. We celebrated daily by talking to each other either at our homes or on the phone. We had family dinners on Sundays and just hung out together. Mom taught me to sew. She was so proud when I finally really got interested after I was married. We went to the store, picked out the pattern and material, and other what nots. She gave me her old White sewing machine. Unfortunately it was not working properly and ended up being unrepairable because of the age. My husband at the time quickly came to our rescue with the loving statement of buy a knew one. Lawn Guy and I went out to brunch with a few of my knitting friends and their fellas. I think he might have been a little bored, but the rest of us had a good time. The whole weekend has been centered around hanging out with friends and just enjoying good company. I can't tell you how nice it is to have a good group of friends. Hubby and I are in the middle of changing out friendships, not because we want to, it more because our children are nearly grown and we are finding ourselves in that age of almost, but not quite - empty nest. The kids are still here, but son is in limbo between deciding to be an adult and going back to being a kid. Needless to say, he's my Peter Pan. Dear Daughter, on the other hand, is growing up and is two weeks from high school graduation. She staying here for at least the first year of college. I don't think she is ready to go away yet. So, Dear Daughter went to her Naval Ball over the weekend. She is not a girly-girl, but she does clean up nice.
