Good ol' St. Louie. Who needs a summer to start off small? Like usual, Let's see if we can fry dinner on the sidewalk. Needless to say with the soaring temperatures and the heat indexes over 100 for most of the week, there has been a lot of inside activities. The doggies want to play outside, and they kinda look at me like really, do we have to come in? Yeah, it's hot. I have been continuing to work on a couple of items. The dratted socks that are starting to near the finish line. Not that I don't love the colors, it's just they seem to be taking forever. Anyhoo, they should be coming off the needles in the next couple of days. My Pi shawl is through tier 2, but I'm afraid I need to rethink this. I have only used about 2/3 of one ball. Hmm, I think not. I doubt it will be a pi shawl in the end. Looking for a different pattern. I love the reddish orange color, and I want to do it justice. That's how it's been going on the PI Shawl. I decided that I really couldn't live with the wonky diamonds, so I ripped it out and reknit. It looks a lot better. I got back to the 2nd round of the 2nd tier and made a mistake at the beginning of the round. Ugh, back to unknitting 288 stitches. I would have not minded the one row reknit, but I did it again on the next 2 rounds. Pay attention already! No picture yet. I want to finish the 2nd tier first. Hopefully by tomorrow I can take a picture.

I haven't done a whole lot of craftiness recently. The latter part of last week I just didn't feel up to much. By Sunday I felt bad enough that I went to the ER. It amazes me really. I know they are only doing their job, but do they have to ask things like "on a scale of 1-10, what is your level of pain?" My response, "I'm here." Second EKG's. Really?! Before you get the wrong idea. I am okay. They gave me a breathing treatment, and prescription for pain meds and an inhaler. I'll live. Tired, but a little better today. Fiber, right, that was what I was starting to talk about. I receive a wonderful package from my Kiwi swap partner. Lots of fiber to play with and I am going to try out some dyeing. Should be fun. The guys finished the carpet in the office today. Moving commenced directly after. Since our house is so small, everything had to be moved out to start the floor in the living room. Fortunately, nearly everything that was in there was headed to the office. Oh my did I clean. Everything was full of dust and needed to be wiped down including any cords to the computers. I spent five hours cleaning and arranging the space. The only thing that I am upset with is the carpet. I'll live with it, but I wanted charcoal grey. It looked like charcoal in the store light. I said something about being happy to find a dark gray. Obviously, the store personnel said nothing about the color. Hmmm, color blind eh? However, at home, in the room, it's nice shade of some kinda blue. Ugh! It doesn't look bad, but it's just not what I expected. We still have some touch up areas and trim on one door to do, but basically it's done. We have the his and her theme going on. Lawn Guy needs a real...

With all the construction going on the house, I just can't work on something that is complicated. I have a pair of socks going, and the sleeves of Lawn Guy's sweater that I want to concentrate on. I have a good 10 inches to knit on the sleeves of the sweater, and the socks, well, they are toe up, so we'll wait and see on those.

Not much knitting going on. I swear each summer we decide to kick our fannies and work on something big in the house. Two years ago, I redid the bathroom from floor to ceiling, and the den's ceiling and walls. Now that doesn't sound like a lot, but I love texture on walls and ceilings. The bathroom walls were atrocious, and they needed lots of covering. There lays the first word in mudding. Lots of mudding and finger swishing! The ceiling in the den is the same way. I got DD to paint the walls in the den. It's a big room, and I just couldn't move after four 8 hour days doing the rest. Last year we put up the rest of the privacy fence, the shed, and sodded the steep, unforgiving front yard, painted DD room during the room swap. This year the remodeling continues. We are still in the mitts of everything, but I decided to share what we have done so far. In the office, we ripped out one wall, removed the wallpaper from another wall, had someone else redo the ripped out wall...
