All Good Things Come Together..... or Eventually

Image
So things have been busy lately. Some friends got married, and a another set of friends will be marrying on my birthday.I need to start their afghan. All newly weds need a cozy blanket to lay under, even when the temperature outside is in the 90's My son says he is trying to get up early, but some how that darn video game keeps him up until 4:30 in the AM. Imagine why one can't seem to get up?!? Well he is 19 and he knows it all, but he lives with his Mom and Hubby. I guess he figure it out or life will eventually bite him on the ass. I feel like I have been knitting up a storm. I am still working on the surprise gift, so no pictures yet. I did finish the Lutea Lace-Shoulder Shell in Cascade Turquoise. Here's a picture of the shoulder area. It fits and it looks great. The pattern was very quick to knit. The lace section at the top was not hard either. The directions were a little unclear. I figured it out by the time I reached the front. I was really impressed with how wel

That dog - Thinks this cat house is his play toy! Now that may not seem impressive but I came in the room to find Charlie, our 45 pound beagle wearing it. I tried to get a picture, but he was not in the mood to pose. Of course dear old Charlie and brother Oreo seem to think that sleeping with Mom and Dad is a must at night. Not only the two dogs, but the CAT also feels the need for the puppy pile. Oh well, life could be worst. The other dog has opted to sleep else where. Someone with brains. What's off the needles!!!! I finished my socks. They fit! There smushy and cozy! I love the colors. I also finished the green sweater. This turned out really nice. I like to color. Its a little big, but I can wear a top under it in the wintertime. Right now I am working on a SURPRISE! and the Lutea Lace-Shoulder Shell in Cascade Turquoise. And Can you say Monkey Socks?

A year to remember

HI everyone! Some how every year, I want to sing the song "School out for summer!!" Of course as I waved goodbye to the kids on the bus, some how the idea of not getting up at the ungodly hour of 5:30 in the morning makes me smile. As a going away for a whole 9 weeks, the girls I work with went to the Cheesecake Factory. Yummmmm! Of course all this extra time will help me do something that I really enjoy - Knitting. I have only been knitting a year and a half, and as I was working on this last pair of socks (picture later when I finish)I couldn't believe how much better my knitting is. I remember the last summer when I knitted a poncho. Gosh what a long process that was. Truly I laugh because I know now that it would not take me so long. The first Warm up America square that I made took 2 hours. Is anybody reminded of just how long things took at first? Its rather sad and funny now. Of course there always the sweater that took forever, only for it to end up felted due to
