From Fluff to Stuff

Ah the weekend. Fan-freakin-tastic! I had a nearly wonderful week. The kids were good for the most part. Finished up some of the reports on my desk. Got my car back. Jeez fixing a car can nearly break you, but after 2 weeks of driving hubster's truck, it just doesn't matter. I really been spending a great deal of time at the wheel. I had this lovely, soft, beautiful roving that I got from Spunky Eclectic. I finally finished spinning the last of the singles and plied it Saturday. It took a very long time to finish, but it is so pretty. I love the way it came out. The colors a fantastic together. Heavy lace weight! This is the thinnest I have ever spun up. I have about 420 yards of a piece of heaven. Now I just need find something to do with it. Fingerless mitts with a pretty lace pattern or maybe a shawl/stole of some sort.

I love three day weekends! The kids at school just do't know how to enjoy them. One of my students said that all he did was play games online. My co-teacher and I told him he was being anti-social. He said, "But I talk to others online." We still said it was being anti-social. Interestingly enough he was not the only one to say he spent most of his time playing games on line. It's not a wonder why we have so many people out there that can't get along with others. Go outside, and at least meet up with friends sometimes. Of course I did rescue him because frankly I did nearly the same thing. Friday we went to the store. We had to take DD car because mine is still in the shop - I think hell just might freeze over before I get it back, but I digress. Three grocery stores and not enough room in a teenager's car for three adults, her crap, and groceries. ugh! Anyway, made it home, made dinner in record speed, and sat down to the live among books, needles, and my spi

I love it! Love it! Fast knit actually. I just happened to make several other little things in between. I need to move the buttons in a little, but other than that I am pretty pleased with the results. I also finished up some very pretty merino and cashmere by Dyeabolical. I am thinking of making a nice cowl out of it. The colors are just fantastic! I have a three day weekend for nothing but fibery goodness. Hmmmm... better get started! Have a good weekend everybody!

What's new!

I finished February Lady, but I don't have any pictures yet. I promise they are coming! I do have a few things that I have started recently. I started Lawn Guy's sweater. Thanks to Kara I have plenty of blue to make it into stripes. I have about 5inches done so far. I love the colors together. It's hard to see, but at the very top is the start of a darker blue stripe. I also started a scarf out of my Stained Raisin. I really like the pattern, but I need to do a couple of more repeats and then a little blocking to see if this going to work out. If not I'll frog it and make an Entrelac scarf instead. Last, but not least, I spun up this pretty green and yellow fiber by Yarnyard. I got lace weight - wooo! I have about 227 yards, so enough for maybe a cowl.

Hey for Fridays!

Not much to say. I am so glad its Friday. I have a ton of work to do over the weekend, so that means get a little done each day. Ugh!

This is a quick post. Life is fine here in St. Louis. The snow is nearly melted away. It's amazing what a couple of days of sun can do to snow. It's all good though. We truly needed the snow. I can't believe it's February 1st! I did finish some spinning over the weekend. This is called Eclipse by Spunky Eclectic. I love this colorway. It was dedicated to the eclipse from back in August or was it July? Hmmm.. not sure anymore. Anyway, the clear blues, oranges and chocolatey browns are fabulous together. The wool is Romney and it turned out softer than I thought it might be. Its not a next to skin, around my neck soft, but definitely wearable. The singles turned out really good and I am pleased with the results. On the knitting front, February Lady is nearing the finish. I just half a little more than half a sleeve to finish up, ends, and buttons! I think today is should be done. I ended up using magic loop for the sleeves since the 16" circular were not cutting the
