A year in Reveiw

I thought I hadn't accomplished much this year, but not so. It seemed to be the year of hats. I knit 10 hats this year. Yes, I enjoy knitting hats. There quick and pleasing, plus they keep your ears warm. I also learned to weave. Oh my another slippery path. I'm not sure I will knit another long scarf when I can weave one in a fraction of the time. During the summer I made an incredible dent in my fiber stash. During the month of July alone, I spun over six miles of yarn. All and all, it was a good year.

Weekend Jam

It has been a fun weekend considering the cloud of allergies that I seem to be under. Lots of kids and teachers are getting sick at work. I had four students out a day or two in the last week in one class alone. Then there is this breezy warm weather and then cold that continues to swirl around. Mind you Saturday was just too nice. I spent the morning getting the house in order, opening windows and letting the fresh air in. The cats were so happy just longing in the window sills all day. Later in the day, hubster and I went to the gun range. We thought it would be less crowded at the end of the day - yeah right! We waited about a half-hour before we got a lane. It's amazing how fast you can go through 120 + bullets. Mind you I do have two clips, so I did shoot more. I am pretty out of practice and the gun is really new. I think hubby made a decision on which gun he prefers. It's not mine. It's way too small for his hand. Poor guy got off to shots before he handed it back to...

Is Ravelry Out of Control ????

I was sitting at Knit Nite when people began to talk about Ravelry. There are same wonderful things that Ravelry has given us as Fiber Artists, there's no denying that. However, the conversation was more on the negative side mainly referring to the concerns of the forums. One main topic was of Mystical Creations and the drama. I can not believe how many posts people have made to this incredible dis-service. Then, there's the discussion of "What makes you hate an LYS?" Here's another thread that is out of control. Here's the question, why is it Ravelry as a whole out of control? I remember not too long ago when the Harlot posted info about the socks with all the leaves and vines that she was knitting and someone posted that the socks were ugly. Stephanie made the point of posting her offense to how it was said. Ravelry is not the problem.
