Celtic Soltice Mystery Begins!

Yes, it's that time of year again. This is my second Bonnie Hunter Mystery. I can't believe I have been quilting for a year now. The color choice is right up my alley. I love the idea of an Irish themed quilt since I'm half Iris; it really pulls on the heart strings.



My color choices are close to the color chips Bonnie recommended.










I started cutting yesterday. Lots of cutting. I am making the smaller version of the quilt. I still had a ton to cut. No worries though. My accuracy has greatly improved in a year. I had 92 Orange and 96 Neutral triangles and 188 pairs of blue wings to add to it. I really struggled getting started. My machine decided that eating fabric was a great game. Also, my quarter inch was way off. I couldn't figure out why.

 That's when I remembered I switched my needle to a thicker size for a jacket that I made on Friday. Duh! No wonder it was a fat quarter. I also took the needle plate off. Yuck! Disgusting. There was so much crap down there. My feed dogs where completely covered with dust, fuzz, and sticky goo.

A few of my dear friends, Kara, Kathy, Carrie,Mindy, and Shannon and hubby got together with my family for celebrating my birthday. We went to Brazie's literally right up the street from my house for dinner. None of us had been there before so we were not sure what the food was like. We were a little surprised at how fancy the place was. Of course we had to make fun of the hostess' tasteless outfit of way to short shorts and high heels. She did not fit the rest of the atmosphere at all. Of course we decided that she would if she had on longer shorts. Of course the poking fun continued when one of the bus boys just happened to go to school with both of my kids. He asked DS what he was doing and , son replied "not much of anything". Lawn Guy made some kind of noise and I thought I should crawl under the table as I looked around at my all to knowing friends and our own rolling of the eyes and giggling. Unfortunately, DS doesn't get life, but hey, he's moving out

Not Much for new

Hi everyone, I am making this short because I am trying to play catch up. First Mystery Stole - still on the 2nd week. I really love it truly I do. Second I have been rereading all the Harry P books to get ready for the last. Of course my husband has a way of trying to spoil it for me. I have my own thoughts but I keep them to myself. Anyway I am on page 60ish, so this has to be quick. I did go to the movie, but I felt they could have done a better job. Oh well if we could have our say, we would be sitting in the theater til' hell freezes over.
